The local media continues to be a great support to the South Sligo Summer School and the coverage we receive on local radio stations and in our local papers helps in no small way to highlight the event and draw new people to Tubbercurry to participate in our great tradition of music, song and dance.   We were delighted to have Harry Keaney of the Sligo Champion as our special guest this year when he officially opened the school on Sunday, 13th July.
Last but not least sincere thanks to Tubbercurry Chamber of Commerce and to the many individuals in Tubbercurry and from surrounding parishes who helped out in so many practical ways in the run up to the school and during the week itself.  This level of local cooperation and community spirit helps ensure the ongoing success of the South Sligo Summer School in attracting musicians, singers and dancers to the area from every corner of the globe.
