South Sligo Summer School 2017

The 31st South Sligo Summer School of Irish Traditional Music, Song and Dance takes place in Tubbercurry from 9th to 15th July. Following Aifreann an Domhnaigh in the Church of John Evangelist at 11.30 am on Sunday morning 9th July, the official opening by newly elected Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Councillor Seamus Kilgannon, takes place in St Brigid’s Hall at 7.30 pm. All welcome. Swallows Tail Céilí Band play for the opening céilí that night, starting at 8.30 pm and registration for all classes and workshops is also in St Brigid’s Hall from 8.30 am on Monday morning, 10th July.

Tubbercurry Old Fair Day Festival Launch

You are invited to the launch of the 32nd Tubbercurry Old Fair Day Festival on Thursday 29th June at 8 p.m. in Murphy’s Hotel in Tubbercurry. Our five day festival runs from Saturday 5th to Wednesday 9th August. All welcome.

Cake Sale

A Cake Sale will take place in the Vodafone Shop in Tubbercurry opposite Supervalu on Friday, 30th June at 9am. Proceeds are in support of our local girl, Sligo Rose, Lisa Maloney’s journey to the Dome and her year as Sligo Rose 2017. Anyone who would bake for the cake sale it will be greatly appreciated. Cakes can be dropped into Lisa’s house on Thursday Evening and from 8am Friday morning. There will also be a raffle on the day with some great raffle prizes.

Ox Mountain Adventure Camp

Ox Mountain Adventure Camp are again running 2 summer camps, 18th to 21st July and 25th to 28th July, 10am till 2pm each day, 60 euros per child per week, limited places.  email – oxmountaincamp@gmail.com or 071 9181920.

Tubbercurry – Card Game

Single hand, 25 card game every Sunday night in St. Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry starting at 8.30am.

Thank you to everyone who turned out in support of the Cloonacool evening in honour of the Sligo Rose, Lisa Maloney and her Rosebud Clodagh Gavigan.  It was a fantastic event and over €1300 was raised for Lisa’s campaign.  If anyone is interested in a DVD (€10 each) of the evening please contact Regina, Anne, Karen or Bríd.

Tubbercurry Women’s Group

Looking for some crafty time? Why not come and join the Tubbercurry Women’s Group. We meet every Wednesday from 5.30pm until 8.30pm at the community room at the Tubbercurry library. We’ll be delighted to see you.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

Regional Enterprise Development Fund

An information event (West Information Session) is taking place in Ard Ri Hotel, Tuam, Co. Galway on 29th June 2017 from 6.30-8.30pm. This is an information evening for persons and groups interested in submitting an application for funding under the new €60m Enterprise Ireland Regional Development Fund.

The Cloonacool Card Game takes place at 9 pm each Monday evening in Cloonacool Community Centre.
