Blood Donation Clinic

The next Blood Donation Clinic will be in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry, on Thursday, 7th September from 4.30pm to 8.00pm.  As always your support is very much appreciated.

Blood is in short supply and everyone who can, should consider donating. It is a wonderful act of caring for others; a genuine gift of life to a person in desperate need. Someone will live because you give. Within three weeks of donation you can be assured your blood will have assisted in saving someone’s life. No greater gift is possible.


We will be starting the new term with our range of one year courses suitable for adults and school leavers on 4th September.  You are welcome to apply and come in for advice and information about options for qualifying for a career to suit you – no points requirement just interest and enthusiasm.  Our website gives details and an online application system but you can also call in any time during the day from the 21st August and receive a friendly welcome.

Tubbercurry and District Active Retirement Group

The first meeting of the Association for the Autumn/Winter session will be held in the Health Centre at 8.30 pm on Tuesday, September 12th. New members are very welcome.

You will hear of our plans for the coming months.

The Historical Dublin Tour, organised by the local Active Retirement Group, is now fully booked out, with a waiting list for cancellations. We would like to thank all who booked so promptly. The coach will leave Tubbercurry, Teach Laighne Car Park, at 8.30 am on Monday, September 18th and we are all looking forward to a few enjoyable days together.

Tubbercurry Gun Club

Local Gun Clubs do great work in helping farmers and bird enthusiast’s control vermin such as foxes, mink, magpies, and grey crows. Various gun clubs are also involved in habitat development and preservation.

Tubbercurry gun club recently held their annual vermin competition and winning team was that of Christy Wimsey, Second was team Michael Conway and third was team Alan Flynn. Work is now starting already for next year’s event.

Rhue Cemetery

The Rhue Cemetery Committee would like to express their sincere thanks for the generousity of the recent gate collection. The amount collected was €1,315. This money will go towards the upkeep of the cemetery.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

Led by Spiritual Director, Fr. Martin Jennings, our pilgrimage to Medjugorje takes place from 27th Sept – 4th Oct 2017. Return flights from Knock, including full religious programme and return airport transfers to Medjugorje. Half board accommodation provided in a private house. Single hand 25 card game every Sunday night in St. Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry. Starting at 8.30am.

Tubbercurry Women’s Group

Looking for some crafty time? Why not come and join the Tubbercurry Women’s Group. We meet every Wednesday from 5.30pm until 8.30pm at the community room at the Tubbercurry library. We’ll be delighted to see you.
