Western Drama Festival

The Western Drama Festival hold their AGM in An Chroi on Wednesday 27th Sept at 8pm. All members are requested to attend and new members are especially welcome

Tubbercurry Library

A ten week ‘Introduction to Music’ programme which started on Tuesday 19th September continues every Tuesday from 5-6pm for parents and young people age 9+ in the Tubbercurry Library. For more details please contact 071 9111705.

North Connaught College

“Are you interested in a free course that will not affect your social welfare payments?  There will be a one morning a week QQI Level 4 course in General Learning starting soon in North Connaught College.  It will suit you if you are thinking of returning to education but need something part time and introductory to start with.  Phone 071 9185035 for details of this new level 4 course.”

Tubbercurry Cancer Support

Tubbercurry Cancer Support Meeting takes place for this month only next Wed 27th Sept at 8pm in the Support Centre at 53 Ard Aisling, Charlestown Road.

Irish Traditional Music Classes

Classes have resumed in the Family Resource Centre, Tubbercurry, and continue every Monday night with Whistle and Flute for beginners at 6.15pm, and advanced whistle and flute at 7pm. Fiddle Classes at 7.45pm.

Ox Mountain Adventure Camp

Tubbercurry – Card Game

Single hand 25 card game every Sunday night in St. Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry. Starting at 8.30am.

Collooney Bingo

With a Jackpot now of over €5,000.00, bingo continues every Thursday night in the Parish Hall, Collooney at 9pm. Come early to avoid disappointment.

Women’s Group

Looking for some crafty time? Why not come and join the Tubbercurry Women’s Group. We meet every Wednesday from 5.30pm until 8.30pm at the community room at the Tubbercurry library. We’ll be delighted to see you.

Guided Meditation

Mediation classes continue every Tuesday night at 8.15pm in Curry Community Centre. Please bring a mat and blanket. Fee of €8 per class is “pay as you go”. We also run a Yogalates Class on a Thursday Evening at 7pm in same Venue. For further enquiries contact Ros on 087-2617309.

Angela Wimsey, deceased

The recent death occurred in Putney, London of Angela Wimsy, originally from Connolly Park, Tubbercurry. Aged 66 years, Angela was daughter of the late Peter and Martha Wimsey. She left Tubbercurry before her 15th birthday on leaving school, and went to London seeking employment. She was a regular visitor back to Tubbercurry over the subsequent 50 years while her parents were alive. She fell into poor health herself in recent years and got great support from the Royal Marsden Hospital in Kingston. Predeceased by her parents and sister Attracta, she is survived by children, Emerson, Lorraine and James, 4 grandchildren, sisters Martha, Sandra and Marian, brothers Joe, Peter, Christy and Sean, and an extended number of in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins, all to whom sympathy is extended. Her funeral service to celebrate her life took place in Putney. May she rest in peace.
