Holy Family NS

Holy Family NS are holding an Open Day on Thursday February 22nd from 1-2 pm. Parents are invited to visit the school to see our school in action. There will be a variety of activities on the day – Ready Set Go Maths, Literacy Lift Off, Music, Dance and Computers.

Will you host a Tea/Coffee Day for your local homeless charity?

Thurs 22nd Feb is Tea Day in aid of North West Simon Community, the local homeless charity. If you are interested in hosting a Tea Day in or around this date, please contact Mary on 087 7708865. Anyone can host a Tea Day with family, friends, work colleagues or neighbours.  Your club, school, hospital or restaurant/café can get involved – the possibilities are endless!!

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

The annual Pilgrimage to Medjugorje takes place from 13th – 20th September, 2018, led by Spiritual Director, Fr. Tim Flynn. North Connaught College – Open Evening

North Connaught College Tubbercurry is hosting its Open Evening on Thursday, 1st March, from 3-6pm for PLC and VTOS courses. School leavers and adults are all welcome. Teachers, Guidance Counsellor, Student Support Tutor and current students will be available to deal with any queries or questions that you may have. There will be taster sessions in some of the various courses e.g Beauty Therapy, IT/Business, Childcare, Nursing and Healthcare.

Special exhibition ‘Celebrating Creativity in our Community’

Complementing the Western Drama Festival celebration of 75 years in existence, a special exhibition ‘Celebrating Creativity in our Community’ will be held-in partnership with Tubbercurry Community Library- Sligo Library Service from 6 – 10 March 2018.

All art forms are acceptable i.e. Painting, sketching, sculpture, photography etc. The working title for this exhibition is ‘Next Chapter’

Tubbercurry Twinning

Tubbercurry Twinning Group is planning a trip to Cutigliano in the Tuscany region of Italy from May 8th – 13th. A Group from Tubbercurry’s Twinning town Viarmes in France will be joining with the Tubbercurry group. The local Group will be travelling from Dublin to Pisa & onward then to Cutigliano, and will be staying in a local hotel. Some suggestions for activities while there, are, Forest walks, an urban hike in the city of Lucca, trip to Chianti & visit a winery, trip to cheese making dairy or visit olive oil company.

The North West Simon Community Mini Marathon Team

The North West Simon Community is looking for people join their mini marathon team. The 2018 VHI Women’s Mini Marathon will be on Sunday June 3rd. Will you join the North West Simon Community Team in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. Tubbercurry Writers Group

The Tubbercurry Writers Group meets every Friday in Tubbercurry Library between 11am – 1pm. Everyone welcome to come along.

Evening classes at St Attracta’s CS

Classes for spring 2018 at St Attracta’s CS, Tubbercurry include

CAD (Computer Aided Design) – 7 week course (€80) Tuesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm starting February 27th next. (for beginners/improvers)

Basic Computer classes –  6.30 to 8.30pm starting Tuesday, Feb 27th (only a few spaces remaining)

Woodwork – (basic) 7 weeks 6.30 to 8.30pm starting Tuesday Feb 27th. (€80)

Tubbercurry Community Library – Events

Some of the upcoming events in the Tubbercurry Library include:-

Story time for children under 6, every Friday at 2pm.

Board games every Tuesday evening from 5pm -7pm for over 10s. If you can’t play we can teach you!

Congratulations to Joe and Margaret Stenson, Ballina Road who celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary recently. Wishing them many more years of happiness.

Peggy Sloan (nee Gallagher) deceased

The death occurred recently of Peggy Sloan (nee Gallagher), sister of Tommie Gallagher, Cashel. Peggy moved to Bayside, New York, USA during the 1950’s, but returned regularly over the years to visit her native Cashel. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Bill. Sympathy is extended to all her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
