Blood Donation Clinic in St. Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry on Thursday, 7th February 2019 from 4.30pm to 8.00pm.  As always, the demand for blood continues and every possible donation is desperately needed. Injured and sick people live because other people give. Blood is life and giving some is one of the greatest gestures of love and care that most people will ever have chance to avail of.

Western Drama Festival 2019 will run from 1st – 9th March in St. Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry.  There is a great mix of plays included in this year’s line up, including lots of drama and comedy over the week.     A full list of the plays can be found by logging on to http://www.westerndramafestival.com/line-up-full-length-march-2019   The Adjudicator for this years Festival is the inspirational Anna Walker, who comes with a great wealth of experience, enthusiasm and expertise.   Tickets for the 2019 Western Drama Festival can be purchased through the Tubbercurry Tourist Office on Humbert Street, or phone 087-0936616 (Opening hours: Mon – Thur 10am – 2pm and Fri 10am – 1.30pm.  Tickets can also be purchased at St. Brigid’s Hall Theatre Box Office during the festival.  For out-of-hours enquiries, please call 087-7078210.

Sligo Cancer Support Group TUBBERCURRY  – This month group will meet in 53 Ard Aishling, Charlestown Rd, Tubbercurry on Wednesday 6th of February at 8pm. This group is for people who have or have had cancer.

Viarmes and Tubbercurry Twinning. This year we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the twinning between Viarmes and Tubbercurry. A group from South Sligo will be travelling to Viarmes on May 9th to May 13th. There will be various activities including a day trip to Paris organised by our French hosts. Cloonacool Players – Rehearsals are in full swing at present for the Cloonacool Players up-coming production of ‘I do not like thee Dr. Fell’ a dark comedy written by playwright Bernard Farrell. This play will be performed in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of February next at 8pm each night. It will then travel to St. Nathys Hall Mullinabreena on Friday night 22nd February and then on to the Arts Centre in Ballina on Thursday night 28th February for a special needs charity event. It will also play in St. Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry on Monday 4th March at the Western Drama Festival. The play which has a story line based on group therapy support and is built around the complex characters who attend the session, is guaranteed to keep audiences fully engaged throughout the evening. It will also play on the drama festival circuit of Ireland, during the month of March. So put these dates in your diary.

Breakout for Hospice – Mayo Roscommon Hospice seek cyclists to participate in the fundraising ‘Breakout for Hospice’ cycle which takes place on Saturday 20thth April commencing in Castlerea and includes 120km/70km & 15km family cycle. The event, organised by Castlerea Prison service and An Garda Siochana is followed by a novel GAA Football match at 6pm between the two parties where one of them will become the Breakout for Hospice 2019 champions.
