Tourism Committee are a group of five people who meet every month to discuss new ideas we have to encourage tourists to stay in Tubbercurry.
- Western Drama Festival
- South Sligo Walking Festival
- South Sligo Summer School
- Tubbercurry Old Fair Day
We met in January 2014 & discussed the idea of developing a map/brochure which would contain all the local attractions, accommodation, services, festivals & all that Tubbercurry has to offer. This Map is left in businesses in town and in the Tourist Office. Our next project is to get a Map erected in the town centre as this amenity is of great value to tourists visiting our town. We have discussed the idea of marketing in Knock airport as there is not a lot of information about Tubbercurry there at present. We believe that the majority of the time Tubbercurry is being by-passed because there is a perception that we do have a lot to offer. Our next meeting will be in May so there will be an update on the above then. We are open to suggestions & ideas all the time & our office beside Teach Laighne is open from Monday – Thurs. 10a.m.- 5p.m &. Friday. 10a.m. – 4.30p.m.
