Aclare 8k Road race in aid of Gallagher House

The Annual Aclare 8k road race in aid of Gallagher House has been re-scheduled to take place on Thursday May 18th at 7.30pm from Kilmactigue Community Centre. Registration will commence at 6.30pm. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Banada Abbey Senior Football Team Function

Twenty Five Years ago, on 3rd May 1992, Banada Abbey Secondary School Senior Football Team won the All-Ireland Colleges “B” Title when they defeated Edenderry (Offaly) in a replay match in Hyde Park Roscommon.

A function is being organized to celebrate and relive some of the great moments of this magnificent achievement. It will be held in the Yeats County Hotel, Curry on Saturday 3rd June commencing at 8.00pm. A full Buffet meal will be served at 9.00pm sharp and the cost of tickets is €20. Numbers are limited and therefore those wishing to attend the event should contact any of the following as soon as possible but not later than Friday 19th May. Moy River Folk Club

Pat McCarrick and Rita Normanly of Moy River B&B are organising a fundraiser for a school in Mombasa, Kenya. The newly built school is in need of furniture and equipment; everything from desks to uniforms to text books. Pat and Rita are hosting a fundraising house concert at Moy River Folk Club on Friday 26th May with local artists. All are welcome. Spaces limited so booking essential – 087 2512030. Tubbercurry Women’s Group

Looking for some crafty time? Why not come and join the Tubbercurry Women’s Group. We meet every Wednesday from 5.30pm until 8.30pm at the community room at the Tubbercurry library. We’ll be delighted to see you.

Sligo Cancer Support Centre

There is a facilitated Cancer Support Group on the First Wednesday of every month 8-10pm at 53 Ard Aisling, Tubbercurry, and a facilitated Bereavement Support Group (for anyone who has lost an immediate family member to cancer) on the last Tuesday of every month 8-10pm in the Centre. The Centre relies totally on the generosity of everyone who continues to organise fundraising events and those who give donations. We are eternally grateful and never cease to be amazed at how this selfless generosity continues throughout these difficult trying times. This Centre is not about cancer….it is about Recovery.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje
