Homegrown for Kenya – Fundraising Concert

Homegrown for Kenya is a fundraising house concert taking place at the Moy River Folk Club (Moy River B&B) in Cloonacool Friday 26th May at 8pm. Many of the most talented local singers and musicians will be performing on the night including, Shane and Fergus McGowan, Noelle Coleman, Colin Marren and Karen McKim. Funds raised go to help with the creation of a new primary school in Kenya. Booking for a place at the concert is essential but donations are welcomed besides through Pat McCarrick and Rita Normanly – 087 2512030.

Photograph and History Exhibition:

The Achonry/Mullinabreena Parish committee are continuing their collection of photos from around the parish and a gathering/presentation will be held this Sunday May 28th in St. Nathy’s Hall from 2.30pm to 7.30pm. This photographic exhibition and history display will be of great interest to all ages with local school art also on display along with slide shows and lots of local memorabilia. All current and past groups/clubs of the parish will be represented with stands on the day. Everybody welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Banada Abbey Senior Football Team Function

Twenty Five Years ago, on 3rd May 1992, Banada Abbey Secondary School Senior Football Team won the All-Ireland Colleges “B” Title when they defeated Edenderry (Offaly) in a replay match in Hyde Park Roscommon.

A function is being organized to celebrate and relive some of the great moments of this magnificent achievement. It will be held in the Yeats County Hotel, Curry on Saturday 3rd June commencing at 8.00pm. A full Buffet meal will be served at 9.00pm sharp and the cost of tickets is €20. Tubbercurry Women’s Group

Looking for some crafty time? Why not come and join the Tubbercurry Women’s Group. We meet every Wednesday from 5.30pm until 8.30pm at the community room at the Tubbercurry library. We’ll be delighted to see you.

Sligo Cancer Support Centre

There is a facilitated Cancer Support Group on the First Wednesday of every month from 8-10pm at 53 Ard Aisling, Tubbercurry, and a facilitated Bereavement Support Group (for anyone who has lost an immediate family member to cancer) on the last Tuesday of every month 8-10pm in the Centre. The Centre relies totally on the generosity of everyone who continues to organise fundraising events and those who give donations. We are eternally grateful and never cease to be amazed at how this selfless generosity continues throughout these difficult trying times. This Centre is not about cancer….it is about Recovery.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje led by Spiritual Director, Fr. Martin Jennings, our pilgrimage to Medjugorje takes place from 27th Sept – 4th Oct 2017.
