Bank of Ireland Enterprise Award
Tubbercurry was recently entered into a Bank of Ireland sponsored “Enterprise” competition, and judging took place last week at An Chroí. A detailed presentation, running over 4 hours was made to the two judges in the presence of over 100 people.
Geraldine Brennan, President of Tubbercurry Chamber of Commerce and Community Association opened proceedings with a formal welcome and this was followed by presentations on various aspects of enterprise in the community by Roger McCarrick, Paraic Neary, Romauld Mullarkey, Teresa Cawley, Louise Kilbane, David Hosey and young Adam Walsh.
An exhibition of over 50 local large and small businesses with their wares was held in the exhibition space of An Chroí both inside and outside the building, and the judges took time to interact and meet every single exhibitor. After that they visited a number of local businesses including, Tool & Gauge, Basta, and Alpha Precision Engineering before a final wrap up of the presentation was made.
This was a marvellous event and most informative for those locals who attended as well as for the judges. The results will be announced at a Banquet on November 16th, and hopefully, Tubbercurry will be acknowledged for all the effort that was made in presenting the town in a positive manner.
