No Posters Please

With the Presidential Election approaching, Tubbercurry Tidy Towns will be joining forces with other Tidy Towns groups in villages and towns around Ireland, requesting that No Election Posters be erected within the 50km zone on any approach road within the town. These posters are a blight on the roadside and streets cape, and can quickly become unsightly. There are plenty of more effective ways of promoting candidates which are environmentally friendlier and less costly. Good luck to all the candidates involved.

Public Meeting – Everyone in the entire Cloonacool area is invited to an open evening of discussion on how people would like to see Cloonacool in 10 years time, and the practical things that need doing to get there. This meeting will take place on Tuesday evening 9th October in Cloonacool Community Centre at 8pm. Young and older are all welcome to attend, and more than one person from each family is welcome also.

Cloonacool Church Renovation Fundraiser -St. Michaels Church Cloonacool finance committee, are running a fundraiser to boost renovation funds in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday night 19th October at 8pm. The Swinford Players drama group will present their play entitled ”For Better, For Worse” a three act comedy written by playwright Jimmy Keary. It is a follow on from last years production which had the audience in howls of laughter all night, and sent everyone home with a smile on their face. This production is guaranteed to be equally as entertaining.

North West Simon Community

Damien & Paula Brennan of The Yeats Experience, Broc House, Holy Well, Sligo are hosting a very special evening on Friday October 26th. With a full dinner menu and Damien’s insights of WB Yeats, the entire proceeds are going to the Sligo branch of the Simon Community. Parent & Toddler Group

This group meets every Monday from 10.30am. All parents/ guardians/ grandparent babies and toddlers are welcome. There are plenty of activities for the little one and the all-important cup of tea for the adults. Inquiries welcome to 0719186926.

FRC Counselling Service

Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre provides an adult bereavement and relationship Counselling service. This service is open to the public and you do not need a referral. We have a fully qualified and accredited therapist available for appointments. At times a waiting list applies but we try to keep this as short as possible.
