Holy Family NS are once again taking part in an Erasmus+ partnership with schools from around Europe. The new project is called Full STEAM Ahead and it concentrates on promoting the use of digital literacy in early years education. The school is working with kindergartens in Kristiansand in Norway, Riga in Latvia, Tallinn in Estonia, Kursenai in Lithuania. They are also working with a school in Malaga in Spain which is both a kindergarten and a primary school. Training courses for teachers will be held in each of the six schools between now and June 2021. The first school to host teachers and provide a training course is Holy Family NS. Seventeen teachers from the five partner schools are coming to the school in two weeks time. A course will be provided to the teachers on the use of Beebots and Bluebots. The teachers will also visit Lollipop Lane Montessori and the FRC pre-school. Teachers from Holy Family NS will travel to the partner schools in the months to come and undertake training there. In this school year, teachers will go to Norway in January and Latvia in March. Ten lucky pupils will go an a pupil exchange for a week to the partner school in Malaga next May and they will also welcome pupils from the Spanish school to Tubbercurry for a week. The second year of the project will see teachers attend training courses at our partner schools in Spain in September, Lithuania in March and Estonia in May.
